Dr Kaye Bowers

Kaye is a Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon specialising in the treatment of gallbladder, liver and pancreatic disease. Kaye graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 1999 and completed her surgical training at The Alfred Hospital. After obtaining her General Surgical Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2007, Kaye undertook post fellowship Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgical Training with the Liver Transplant and HPB Surgical Unit at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne and The London Hospital HPB Unit in the United Kingdom.

Kaye serves on board of the Australian and New Zealand Hepatopancreatobiliary Association, is a member of the training committee, and an examiner for the HPB surgical fellowship program. She is a strong advocate for the support and career development of women in the field of HPB Surgery.

Kaye is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Surgery at Monash University Department of Surgery. She is a specialty editor for the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery. She is a member of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and the International Laparoscopic Liver Society.

In addition to her clinical work, Kaye has an interest in Healthcare Management with a dedication to ensuring the provision of high quality and sustainable healthcare. She holds a certificate in Quality and Safety through the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, is an associate member of the Institute of Managers and Leaders and has completed a MBA and Master of Healthcare Management.
