I am an HPB Surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive (laparoscopic/ robotic) surgery.
I am a graduate of the University of Otago School of Medicine and was awarded my PhD from the University of Auckland. My surgical training was completed all over NZ with post-fellowship training as described below. I work as a Consultant Surgeon at North Shore Hospital in Auckland and in private practice. I also run an active research program through the University of Auckland and supervise multiple MD/ PhD students. I am a reviewer for multiple international surgical journals including Annals of Surgery, British Journal of Surgery and ANZ Journal of Surgery. Together with my colleagues, I have performed NZ’s first robotic whipple and continue to perform minimally invasive major hepatectomy and pancreatic resections regularly.
